Maybe somebody else from here can answer from their experience. But here is what I know from my readings in USCIS press releases related to the infamous July Fiasco.
1.
On July 23rd USCIS published a QA and it specifically addresses the issue regarding Fee.

Q7: Which fees apply to I-765 and I-131 applications associated with AOS applications filed on or after July 30th under the July Bulletin?
A7. The fee of $180 for Forms I-765 and the fee of $170 for Form I-131 will remain in effect for those aliens eligible to file an employment-based adjustment of status application pursuant to July Visa Bulletin No. 107. These fees will remain in effect for all such applications filed between July 17 � August 17, 2007.

You have to keep on paying the fees for i765.

What is the confusion here? Do as what the instruction says. It is pretty elaborate.
Copy of your respective passport pages.

1) I am confused about the filing fee for EAD. Some say Filing fee is dependent on your 485 filign date.

Does that mean I donot have to pay any fee to USICS for EAD application?
2)What are the documents I have to submit along with I-485 receipt, I-94 copy & 2 photos?
On the I-765Instr document it says
"You must submit a copy of your Federal Government-issued identity document, such as a passport showing your picture, name and date of birth; a birth certificate with photo ID; a visa issued by a foreign consulate; or a national ID document with photo and/or fingerprint.The identity document photocopy must clearly show the facial feature of the applicant and the boigraphical information."
Which document I should provide as per the above statement?
3)What is the EAD application current processing time for Nebraska as I am in California and have to apply to NSC(Nebraska)?

File in EB1-OR. That has slightly lower requirements than EB1-EA. Since you are in research and have a job, you may have better success with EB1-OR. I guess maybe because EB1-OR does not have premium processing, you applied in EB1-EA? (http://bit.ly/dophyK)
File regular PERM application. If your perm gets approved, then you can renew H1B in yearly increments. Once you get 140 approved, then you can renew at 3 year phases.
I recall USCIS had 140 in premium processing if your H1B was expiring soon (in few months). Check up on that.
NOTE: It seems for EB1-OR, the applicant has be in tenure or tenure-track position if working for an University.

Did you see any LUD prior to this email?
No LUDs. Just got our approvals on the 14th around 5:30 PM. I did have a pretty benign RFE for EVL to which we replied on Aug 12th and there were subsequent Soft LUDs for 6 consecutive days until 8/19.
I'm guessing its been around a month since we responded to my RFE and since my case was under review, they may have picked it eventually.

i had interview at mumbai consulate on friday morning 9.30.
EVERYONE please take time to read and reply...
the officer was very rude... i said good morning upon entering and she did not reply.... then she said she is getting strange people since morning and no one is following her instructions....
she asked me the name of company, my job title etc..i replied ...
and then she asked me for my old passport and wrote CWOP on expired visa.....
she asked my wife if she has old passport and i said no and there it started..."SHE got angry and said did i asked you? let her speak... " "women can speak for herself etc..." she did utter some few words slowly so i said "excuse me" and that's it..she told me people like me should not be in usa..etc...etc........."
here is the deal...she did not gave me any slip or anything and said we can go now.....
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
will i get my passport with stamp? or do they send Pink/Yellow/White slip through courier?
expert any advise?
i tracked the passport on VFS site on Saturday morning and VFS says they have not received passport from the embassy. is this normal? should i wait till monday evening before jump on any conclusion?

If my wife is a US Green card holder and i am in H1B and if we both file for candian green card and move to canada for a week for stamping. Would it create a problem on US citizenship for my wife.

Ans: Yes. It can be done through PAYPAL - payment need to be sent to donations@immigrationvoice.org
2) Is it possible to allow minimum RECURRING contributions like $10?
Ans: Seeing the need of assuring sure funding IV core team has decided minimum $50/- recurring option.When I am talking to my friends, we felt that the above things increase the
Contributions. We are also thinking that it is easy to ask friends to contribute if there are no limits on the contributions.
If I am correct there are more than 25,000 Members. If there are 10% of active members and each contribute $10 we get another $25000 that is required for the Bill.
My Contributions:
$50 Recurring Contributions from Nov 07.
Contributed $100 for the DC Rally.
$25 to the local Northern California Chapter in Oct 07.
Contributed to AILF $100 during the July visa bulletin time.

There is a big difference between first class and economy class travel, and preventing a spouse who has already exhibited intent to immigrate from working for a very long time if they dont pay $1000.00 for premium processing of I-130. This is the reason I quoted the examples. Im not saying this from a "commie" point of view that everyone should own a Lada. While it is true that the employers should pay for premium processing, many people end up paying for it themselves, maybe in the form of reduced bonuses, or something else. Imagine what will happen when BCIS is swamped. We, desperate for a resolution for our problems, will end up cajoling our employers to drop a thousand dollars here for I-130 premium processing, another 1000 dollars for H1B premium processing because it already takes 5-6 months during regular processing. All Im saying is, fix the problem instead of finding band-aids.

Yes, this is part of the pre-adjudication process. No need to take an Attorney if your case is straight forward - but it really depends on you!
Even though yours and your wife's interview time is different - they will call you together :)....just drop in both the Interview Notices together once in the room.
Take all the documents that you can - both original and photocopies (don't worry if you don't have originals).
We had our interview couple of weeks back and all the officer asked was for photocopies of EVL, W-2's along with Tax returns for last 3 years and birth Certificates.
Hope this helps.

Simple thing, when she doesn't have a job why would you get her an H1B , which any other well qualified candidate would have got. Because of the people like you all the legal immigrants are the targets of the accusation of "stealing our jobs".

My LUDS: 9/7, 9/11, 10/3(after FP), 12/10, 12/11, 12/15, 12/18.....
